Five on Friday

I used to do this series almost weekly when I had my old blog, and I really liked being able to share a few random things each week.

1. This week was Rush Week for my Co-Ed Fraternity, and as Vice President of Membership, you can imagine that at times it was a little stressful. This semester we weren't expecting a huge pledge class (I had to majorly adjust my expectations after I set them much too high in the Fall Semester). I managed to get through the week pretty painlessly.

2. I got a couple of new pairs of jeans in from Abercrombie (Don't judge, they have the best jeans and fit me so well!) and am so obsessed with them! They're both on sale for under $40 right now. I got this distressed pair of boyfriend jeans in a size 27short, and this pair of ankle skinny jeans in a 28short. (I'm 5'5" and the "short" always look more flattering on me)

3. I've been having a really rough time falling asleep recently. Usually, I'm out before my head even hits the pillow, but the past few days it's been taking me 10-30 minutes to fall asleep. I know that's not too bad, but for me, it's way out of character! It gets worse the longer it takes because then I start to worry about not being able to sleep and sleeping through my alarm. Anyone have tips on falling asleep quickly?

4. This week I discovered the band Glass Animals on Spotify, and have been loving the song "The Other Side of Paradise" off of their latest album. I'm not sure how I have never heard of them before considering they are my favorite genre of music.

5.
Last Friday I attended my school's homecoming dance (yes we have homecoming in January, that's what happens when your school doesn't have a football team, you wait until basketball season!). The dress I wore is super affordable and available on Amazon Prime. I had ordered it a couple of years ago for a Fraternity Formal and thought this year's homecoming would be a great chance to wear it again. As you can sort of see in the photo on the right, the back is open with lace. The dress is super stretchy and comfortable and very flattering. I ordered a size 4 but if you're taller than me, it might be too short for you.

Thank God it's Friday!

Nothing Like a Fresh Start

It's hard to believe that it has been so long since I have posted on here. I won't say the break was an intentional decision, but this blog definitely fell to the back burner last summer. A lot has happened since the last time I posted. A brief synopsis would be that I graduated from college with my bachelor's degree and applied to and enrolled in law school. Plenty of stories to share from the last year but I'll be saving those for another time. Photo by   Dominika Roseclay  from  Pexels I've been out of classes for close to a month now, and now that graduation festivities have finally died down and I've recovered from Senior Week, I'm bored. I've always been a bit of a reluctant workaholic. I procrastinate and complain constantly while I'm in school with "so much to do" but then when I have nothing to do, I'm beside myself with boredom and the lack of structure. I've been craving a creative outlet, and the logical choice for...

5 random facts about me

Since I'm just starting out on this blog, I thought I would share 5 super random facts about me! You can learn more on my " about me " page, but I thought five random facts would be a fun way to introduce myself today. I'm a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan, and pride myself in being pretty knowledgable when it comes to Hockey as a sport. However, when it comes to other sports, I'd like to say I have a basic knowledge or understanding of the rules, but I may be giving myself too much credit in saying even that. The only country I've traveled to outside of the United States in Canada, but I love visiting there! I have family outside of Toronto, and have also visited Niagra Falls. It's one of my goals in the next few years to slowly explore more of the country with my family. In case you couldn't tell by my first two facts, my house is a total Winter Sport house (Can't wait for the Winter Olympics to begin next week!). We love to ski, snowm...
